We are a friendly and enthusiastic choir whose roots in Sandbach stretch back to 1947. Under the artistic direction of our previous conductor, Martin Cook, the choir went from strength to strength performing some ambitious choral programmes which have included Orff’’s Carmina Burana , Britten’s Noye’s Fludde and Handel’s Dixit Dominus. Last season’s highlights included Mozart's Twelfth Mass and Requiem and a sell-out performance of Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance . We are now looking forward to working with our recently appointed conductor, Anthony Rose, to further develop the choir.
With a mission to bring choral music alive to the local community and to work with and encourage young people to participate in our performances we have an exciting and varied programme ahead. We are always delighted to see new faces, either in the choir or in our audience.
The singing season is from September until May and rehearsals are held in the Hancock Hall, Wheelock Methodist Church on Tuesday evenings from 7.30 pm until 9.30 pm. Following our summer break, rehearsals begin on Tuesday 8th September 2009.
